My name is John P. Dickinson, and I am a Bradford based independent computer specialist.

My experience with computers started at the very young age of 9, when we purchased our first IBM compatible computer.

Throughout my teenage years I experimented with all the buttons and settings I could find on the computer, until I had a reasonable grasp of what was going on. This gave me a thirst for diving further into this technical world.

Friends and family were soon requesting my assistance with all kinds of computer issues; and word started getting around about my proficiency with home computing issues.

After finishing my schooling I went to Bradford College and completed an Advanced GNVQ in Information Technology. This course paved the way for me to attend University.

Starting in 2001 I attended the University of Bradford reading a BSc. (Hons.) Cybernetics & Virtual Worlds, graduating in 2005 with a First class degree.

After graduating I immediately started looking for a job in the information technology sector. I soon found that most jobs in this sector were very restrictive – with jobs often to dedicated to a small repetitive task. With this in mind I decided to establish an independent computer service company; this gave me the freedom to make full use of my IT skills and provide a personal service for every client.

… and here I am now. Established as J Dickinson – ICT Consultant providing computer support to local business and domestic clients, and also developing websites for local and national clients.
